Resources for Self Care during Covid-19

Here are some links to free videos and resources for self care that I’ve collated over the past few months about supporting our mental and physical health during the current pandemic of COVID-19 Coronavirus.  They include information about the ancient Chinese system of supporting a healthy immune system and exercises for adults, young people and children to strengthen the lungs and calm the mind.  Plus there is a link to a book for children about coronavirus.

My colleague Danny Blyth, who is a Chinese medicine teacher at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, has put together a 6-minute narrated slideshow on the art of nurturing life by cultivating strong upright Qi and a healthy immune system.

Puffins on Skomer Island in Wales

A magical feast for the eyes of amazing birds, wild flowers, seals and porpoises.  With the Summer holiday season starting, this is a fabulous place to visit with children.  Puffins on Skomer Island - children, activities
Off the coast of Pembrokeshire, Skomer Island is surrounded by some of the richest waters for wildlife in the British Isles.  The island itself attracts ground nesting birds and a huge array of wildlife which shelters in its bays and inlets.  It is estimated that there are about 6,000 breeding pairs of puffins and 120,000 breeding pairs of Manx shearwaters that nest on Skomer Island. Acupressure in Childbirth Workshop 14th June 2014

At Cheadle Osteopathy, Sat 2pm-5pm, by Balwant Kaur for osteopaths, chiropractors and doulas.

A training workshop in the application of acupressure for natural pain relief during labour.  Acupressure points can help women prepare for labour, be used as pain relief during labour, help with after pains and help to establish breast feeding postnatally.

Following on from the Acupressure in Childbirth Workshop for Doulas in the North West, February 2012.
